Pizza Topping Casserole

I no longer mess around with faux pizza crusts. When I am hungry for pizza, this stops the cravings.

The recipe calls for 8 to 16 oz. of cheese. I have used 8 and I have used 16, it tastes great either way.

NOTE: I like my onion and green pepper soft, so I cook them with the sausage, but if you like them more crunchy, don't pre-cook them.

Pizza Topping Casserole

1 pound sausage
1 small onion, chopped
1 small green pepper, chopped
3 1/2 oz. pepperoni, chopped
mushrooms, sliced (I use an 8 oz. can, drained.)
olives, sliced
pizza sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
8 to 16 oz. mozzarella cheese, shredded

Saute the sausage, onion and green pepper. Drain. Stir in the pepperoni, mushrooms and olives. Stir in the desired amount of pizza sauce, then stir in the garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

Spread in a greased 8" square pan, spread the cheese on top and bake in a 350 degree preheated oven 5 to 20 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Bake time will depend on how much cheese you use.
