Peacocks everywhere

I came down to Galle - an area in the south of Sri Lanka. Where I'm staying is some 40kms away from the city. The village is "infested" with peacocks, but hard to take a good photo using the mobile phone. Here's one I took. The tiny thing at the end of the footpath. 😂 (They are really big birds though)

They certainly are beautiful birds, but they do need a natural setting like the one you posted.

I lived outside the city limits but in a residential area and had two peacocks decide that they wanted to stay at my house. At first I thought, "Oh my gosh, they're beautiful. I hope they hang around." Well, after cleaning up their poop off my patio for a few days, I decided I really wanted them to go elsewhere.

A guy and his girlfriend who lived on some acreage came out and tried to catch them to take them back to his place. They were unsuccessful, but the peacocks decided to leave after that. Part of me hated to see them go, but I sure was tired of cleaning up their poop.

And the pea cocks are noisy.

Thanks mods for posting the picture in line with text. I couldn't post the photo any other way on mobile phone.
@johnny I believe it could be a delicious dish but here in Sri Lanka killing a peacock is frowned upon by many as it's considered to be the " vehicle" of some god. (That's the very reason why their population grows this much.) But still people kill them but not in public. @Cooksie it's a really bad idea to have them at home, lol. They are noisy as johnny said above, and won't stay quiet even at night. However, in my experience, they are not as destructive as monkeys or giant squirrels.
