Okay, so several NTC members have made pea soup lately and made me crave some.
I'm trying to use leaner meats, so instead of using smoked ham hocks, I used smoked turkey necks and a ham boullion packet (note to self: look for Ham Better than Boullion, as Cooksie mentioned).
PERFECT!
Made it in the crockpot yesterday. Always better the next day. Topped with freshly ground pepper and garlic croutons.
All set for this winter week's lunches!
