Here's another I've been searching for.
Olga's Kitchen was a fast casual place throughout Michigan, Ohio, and a few other places. Olga died a few years ago, and they now only have a few locations in Michigan. Their signature sandwich, called an "Olga", was similar to a gyro, but not exactly the same. The bread was softer, moister, sweeter. The meat and sauce were a little different. They often added a 3 cheese bland. There were tomatoes, but no cucumber and onions.
I loved them. It's easy to find copycat recipes for their bread, but all of the recipes seem to come from the same source. Milk, egg, honey, yeast, salt, sugar, flour, etc. But Olga's insists that their secret recipe is and always has been vegan. That eliminates milk, egg, honey, and yeast. I have been searching for years for the real thing. Anyone familiar with a vegan, soft, slightly sweet, pita?
