yeah its an old thread but why start a new one....

A friend brought some of these back from out west and basically dared me to make
something good with them...

Gonna make a salsa and serve it with 2 strip steaks soaked in a carne asada style marinade.
Wish me luck! LOL

Burnt the snot out of them on the grill, so I bought a jar and made salsa with that.
Was actually pretty good.

Moral of the story... if your prickly pear cactus is thin and kinda dry, IGNORE cooking times suggested in recipes... it won't take that long. LOL
