Old Ethyl is nasty,
On occasion we had to drain Old Ethyl from a tank. Had half a bucket of it sitting there and I wanted to see how bad it really smelled so I snuck up on it with my nose. Couldn't smell much of anything so I stuck my nose in the bucket. Still not much.
I walked away and as soon as I got fresh air through my nose I about wretched. For quite a few breaths the more fresh air my nose got the worse the smell got. Had to grab hold of something. Smelled Ethyl for the rest of the day too.
