I do need some info, C-Man.

I cannot, for the life of me, grow pickling cucumbers in my pots. The few fruit I get are little yellow golf balls.

I tried again as late as last year. Same thing.

cucumbers have a large but shallow root system - like 2 ft in diameter. the pots may simply be too small.


they have male and female flowers - the small round ball sounds like poor pollination. how many plants do you grow?


the yellowing could be the pollination issue, over watering, virus or age....
 
We have pumpkin blossoms going crazy, and wild morning glory.
I'll go out and take some pics when the weather improves.

Last year, I tried 3 plants in maybe a 4 gallon pot. Got 1 yellow golf ball.

I'm thinking that they just are not meant for smaller containers.

I also had one when I was living at my other place.

I am not good with technology, but yesterday was such a glorious day, that I figured out how to take a video of my 50+ container garden and (maybe?) how to share it.

I live in a townhouse complex on a ledge, with about an inch of topsoil, so planting in the ground is impossible. We are only allowed to have plants on our patios and against the fence.

The day was so bright that the video is kinda washed out, and my cat, Blue, photo-bombed it, but you get the idea. So peaceful and serene, and hummingbird watching has become a zen-like past time!

Okay, now let me see if my video-posting works!

Maybe I have to save it as something other than a jpeg?

Lee, I think you have to save it as an mpeg. A jpeg is a still photo. Also I wouldn't post it as an attachment (with the box around it) maybe use the paper clip to choose what to upload - video or pictures. Then click the paper clip again and click your upload (no box appears around the picture then). JMO

Nice garden! Love the kitty coming to see what mama is doing.
