Another bluesman tha died too young, Roy Buchanan. This is a great cover of "Green Onions"

MGJ, Karma points to you. Roy Buchanan was so soulful, so influential in his phrasing, so under appreciated. He is the reason I own, and have owned so many telecasters!!!

Hmmm, time to check youtube for some Danny Gatton-be right back!

Inspired by Green Jeans post of the late great Roy Buchanan, I dug up this footage of Danny Gatton. Danny languished around the DC area for years, splitting his time between gigging at local clubs, and when he got bored with that, he would trade off his guitars for a hot rod (his other love). An interesting story, Lowell George of Little Feat heard Danny play and offered him a slot in the band on the spot. Danny of course, accepted. Sadly, the following Monday(?) Lowell died of a drug overdose, and it never came to fruition. Over time Danny became extremely disillusioned with the music business, and like Roy Buchanan, ultimately took his own life. Heres to what might have been.........
