Preheat oven to 350. Butter a 8x8 or 7x11 baking pan.

*Cream 1 cup of softened butter, 1 1/2 c granulated sugar until light.
*Add 4 room temperature eggs, one at a time until combined,
*Add 1 tsp almond extract or 1/2 tsp each almond AND vanilla extract or just vanilla ( it depends on the flavor you want to mix with the fruit)
*Then slowly add 2 cups of UNSIFTED all-purpose flour and 1/2 tsp baking powder. Try not to over mix.
*Spread half of the batter into the buttered baking dish. Top with 1 can of pie filling and cover with the rest of the batter.
*Bake for 35-40 minutes. Let cool and top with powdered sugar or whipped cream.

Oh wow, RM, what did you fill this with? Blueberry???

Did you mix by hand or mixer?

Did you sprinkle granulated sugar on top?
