Longhorn Steakhouse

Just hit this place this week for the third time and its not bad. Ruth's Chris is #1 for me, Outback taking the #2 spot so Longhorn is going to have to settle in at #3 for now. Nice decor, I sit at the bar so I can watch the TV. The 1st trip I got the filet & lobster tail which was good, steamed asparagus(the stalks were to small and it was hard to swallow) French Onion soup app which was very good.

Yesterday I got the Ribs & Fillet ,baked potato and another frenh onion with a cesaer salad that was almost Outback quality. It's the second time I got the ribs and I think the last. The meat was not falling off the bones.

I just finished the left over fillet from yesterday, and was dipping it in Uncle Lucky's Meat Sauce, very good, kind of close to A-1 from what I remember. I rarely eat a fillet with any sauce.

The Outback here used to be among my favorite placed until last year when it seem to take a down turn. My favorite steak house is the Burns in Tampa (only one) but aside from that for chains I would say the Texas Steak House. We have a Longhorn here but I would rate it with Outback as it is here, not that good. I've eaten in a few of the Texas Steak House in Texas, Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky, all of which where excellent. The Outback was good in Florida as was the one here till about a year ago when the food quality seemed to go down a bit.

i've been enjoying longhorn for years. the flavor of the aged and perfectly cooked steaks is yummy. i order mine with asparagus with butter and grated cheese instead of the normal potato. i order the buffalo wings dry with the bufflao sauce and blue cheese on the side so i can dip. and the bread is yummy also.

I wished the Longhorn here was that good, loved it in Florida too. The Road House here is also so so which where great in Florida and Texas.

Yes the bread was very good...

Yes, Renfro; it's a really close copy of "A-1"........ matter of fact, I used to call it "A-2" Sauce LOL

Our Outback has slowly denigrated into just another "fast" food joint. The first thing I noticed was that the portions were slowly shrinking to the point where the veggie side ain't much more than a garnish......... round here, Texas Roadhouse is the go to place for beef..............

The Longhorn and Texas Roadhouse here are not the greatest.....Outback is much better (my son works there). lol

They are cutting way back though and will be going down hill too. All the prep work is being cut back and having more things shipped in instead of doing it in-house.

Wish we had an Outback here, but there are none anywhere close. The Longhorn was good last time we were there, but DH cooks such good steaks at home, it's been a long time. Love those onion blossoms.

I recently went to Longhorn for the first time and really enjoyed it. I had a coupon for some 10 dollar meals and decided to check it out

really good steak :)
