LaConner Pub and Eatery

Today we drove to the Skagit Valley to Gordon’s Farm, a pumpkin farm mentioned in Martha Stewart’s Living Magazine. We bought some squash, potatoes, and tulips. The suggested we eat lunch at LaConner Pub. We did and were not sorry… the pub is on the river right where it empties into Puget Sound.

I had two oyster shooters, Nancy had one, and we shared a plate of fried oysters for an appy. I had fish and chips and she had a chef salad which was loaded with ham. My Alaska cod was some of the best cod I’ve had. I look forward to going here again.

Wow. I feel I’m missing out on a lot of good eats because I don’t like seafood (besides canned tuna). I’d puke guaranteed if I had one of those oyster shots! Lol I didn’t even like that one gum that squirts in your mouth when ya chew it :yankchain:

They had a full range of burgers I was told were fantastic.

Mark, I don't like many types of seafood, but if you tried deep-fried haddock or cod, like in John's photos, I'm pretty sure you'd like it. I hardly ever order anything else now when I go out to eat (I don't make it at home).

As for oyster shots, I'd have to be on Survivor for at least 19 days before I tried one of those!

I had not had oysters for 20+ years. Back then I simply tried one and did not like it. So, I tried one a week ago while on a little vacation in FL. I still don't like them. LOL So I'd be more like Lee. LOL Good way to put it Lee.

Otherwise not a big seafood lover but I also like Haddock and cod. I try salmon but can't say I 'like' it. Wife cooked it one way (she can't recall how) and we both liked that dish. We might stumble on it again but so far no luck figuring out how she did it.
