I know lotsa people don't cook on Fridays.... including myself lately...

But, DH starts a new job today with normal hours, and I am no longer working during the week at all.... just weekends again.

So, I'm gonna be a good wifey and have dinner ready by 6.
Grilled chicken, roasted veggies, maybe a brown rice pilaf.

You?

I'm working for a change... Do I have to cook dinner too?

DANG!

Chicken I guess... if it thaws by the time I get home!

My last chance for the Knight's Of Columbus fish fry dinner! LOL

I'll run over and grab some on my break today.

Hubbys working.......so Im thinking of doing a "suziquzie" and making popcorn or Pb & J's....
If 2 people do it then it has to be right.....right?

I don't know yet. I know I should go to the grocery store today, so maybe I'll get inspired there. I know I'd like to do some shrimp on the barby sometime this weekend...

i made tonight's dinner last night. the round bone veal chops that were in the fridge were still good <phew>, so i made veal, peppers, and onions.

here's my vitello con pepperoni.

BT, I dont like veal, but that looks DELICIOUS!!! What an adorable little helper you have there!

I'm thinking Mexican tonight. Can't decide whether to do at home or go out - cheaper to do at home & no worries about too much beverage that way. :tiphat:

We have left over rib roast. DH wants to make cheese steak sandwiches, but I think I'm going to skip the cheese.

Cheese is good for ya, Constance! Think of the protein and calcium!

DH is going to play golf with some buddies tonight, so will grab a bite with them. I think I'll order a pizza for me

Not really sure yet. Something meatless though. I have some shark steaks in the freezer that I really wanted to do on the grill but with it raining all day I may save them. Strawberry shortcake for dessert!!

First of all....It's Marianne's Birthday!!!:happybday1::happybday1: so anyone who knows my Mom....give her a call!

Lou is coming in very early tonight...5pm so no time to really pre prep anything before he gets here.

We're going to the new FairWay Market that opened in Paramus to pick up a few things for the weekend. We'll decide there what's on for tonight.

For the record, we'll be the only two shopping with cocktails:alc:

uh...why is he taller than the stove???

lol, vb. he stands on a kitchen chair when he helps me cook. i have to do everything with one hand as i hold the splatter screen with the other in front of him so he doesn't get burned.

last night, we discussed the maillard reaction, deglazing, and fond. :)

he's gonna be the only kid in kindergarten that knows what umami is.

hey, lemme know how fairway goes. i'll be on vacation next week so i hope to get there.

BT, it looks like we have the exact same stove.
Do your knobs stick or barely turn when the oven is on over 350?
I've had that problem from the first time I used the oven. My stove is circa 2002.

Last night for me and DW to work the fish fry at church. We have served over 600 meals each night. The weather is crappy with rain all day and into the night, so I wonder what the turnout will be. The important thing is that it's the last one. I'm tired of pots & pans.

We are having a shrimp cocktail, pasta salad and a green salad. Neither of us are feeling really well today. Nothing serious both of us have been fighting a case of the flu.

I was very lazy and feeling quite tired, so sausages in baguette, potato wedges and peas

heres a finished plate.. cous cous - snow peas and slice chicken breast.

batteries died again as i was taking this pic

The weather has been absolutely miserable here since 1:00, rain, sleet and high winds. I just looked at my creek and I imagine anytime now it will be visible from the house (lol).
So.... I'm going to reheat some mashed potatoes and gravy from last night, also a couple slices of meatloaf from the freezer, cook up the rest of my green beans, have two or seven beers, and call it a day.

i have chicken wings out for tomorrow when DW goes out with the hens ...
but she is eyeing them .. i may need a plan b ...
hopefully i will entice her with pizza on the grill ..
and she will leave my wings alone ...
