How do you celebrate President's Day?

Working here. I get 4 floating holidays, and six fixed holidays. I would rather take them when the weather is warm.

Don't celebrate it...but some friends did just call and ask if they could drop by for coffee. Haven't seen them in awhile so it'll be a nice.

One of my best friends Jeff loves any excuse to party and he use to have fantastic parties for all the holidays. He is an obgyn who relaxes by cooking and baking and decorating. Currently, he is in Maine. I use to bake for him and the nurses when he was doing his residency here. He worked such crazy hours.

He would go all out decorating the house, making part of the meal, buying other parts and hiring servers to help. I can't tell you how amazing he is!

I'm celebrating by moving recipes into the new subforums.

I just ate but I'm getting hungry again. Guess I should quit reading everything. :bonk::bonk::bonk:

not celebrating here either. just another work day, albeit at time and a half.

the worst part is parking regulations are all over the place in the city today. alternate side of the street is cancelled, but you still have to pay the meters.

why couldn't they just make it holiday/sunday parking regs. like they do with every other holiday?

mass transit is on a sunday/holiday schedule. the markets are closed. so are banks and the post office.

This day always came right around my husband's birthday...and he loved cherry pie. I always made him a pie. He's kicked the cherry pie habit, lately...so yesterday I made him something he always loved to eat from the day he first came calling at my parent's home...meatballs. One big extended family dinner yesterday with spaghetti and meatballs....

Did any of the presidents like meatballs??? Other than that, I had to work today:sad:

I own my own small business, therefore, your bank and federal worker holidays are pretty much meaningless to me. I take off July 4th (annual fishing trip), Thanksgiving and Christmas. Easter is on Sunday, so it doesn't count. All the others are fluff, and I'm not staying home when I can be making money. Besides, some of us need to work to pay for Obama's Porkulus package while he vacations after just starting this job. Must be nice. And guess who gets to pay for the jet fuel??????

Today was spent by working 12 hours, and I got a lot accomplished on a kitchen renovation. I also hired my neighbor for some part time work with me. He just lost his job last Friday, and I can use the help for awhile.

yeah...instead of chicken in every pot... he could put a loaf of bread on every table! Sounds good to me~

Whatever you do... for God's sake.... don't suggest they eat cake!!

That didn't work out well for the last person to suggest it...
