Hot Mustard Sauce

1 cup ground mustard
1/2 cup white vinegar
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup COLD water
1 tsp. salt

If you want to turn on the heat, combine mustard and cold water. Allow to hang in the refrigerator 10 - 15 minutes to allow enzymes in the ground mustard seeds. to react. Add remaining ingredients in a saucepan and bring to just a boil then reduce & simmer 10 minutes. Place in a jar and refrigerate. Keeps 3 months or more but never lasts that long.
 
MGJ, what do you mean by 'ground mustard'?

stone ground prepared mustard?
mustard seeds ground in a spice grinder?
dry (powdered) mustard?
