Help me design a new kitchen

Love it! So you have that same great view from the sunroom too - great planning

We have coyotes too, and they regularly pick off the cats. I've never heard of them getting a dog, but I'm sure they are capable.

The view out the sun room looks several hundred yards off into the distance. I keep a pair of binoculars in there at all times. I'm liking the house more and more each day.

In Florida about three years ago there were two or three small dogs taken right off the leashes while being walked. When I walk my little 9 pounder I carry a knife at minimum.

Our friends in Arizona have lost two dogs to coyotes. They jumped the fence and attacked them. A knife is not going to be any help if a wolf or coyote goes after your baby. Smith and Wesson are your best friends in that situation.

Northern Wisconsin has lots of coyotes and wolves. They often don't coexist well but am unsure if that is the case here as a friend recently saw a timber wolf on his property and he only lives a couple miles away.

I'm ALWAYS watching for trouble. Picture me walking the dog in Florida - gators, coyotes, black bear, poisonous snakes, pythons, cougars, buffo toads, etc. Granted, a knife wouldn't be much good for most of them but my instincts would put me, armed with only a knife, between my puppy and a coyote. I normally don't carry a gun here, but, the town has changed....

Katherine alway carried a side arm when she walked the dogs. Since she worked it was in the early morning and later towards evening which is exactly when they hunt. She saw them more than once. All she had to do was branish the weapon and they took off. They knew what it was. They usually hunt in groups so while you are putting yourself between one of them the others will circle around. Carry a side arm my friend. I do not want to see a post saying that your cutie was attacked.

I hear the coyotes every night where we live. Also see them every once and a while crossing streets etc. Not seen one in my yard fortunately! When I have little grand kids here I am always in the yard with them just in case. We just put in a sensor sprinkler for my garden - deer are eating my tomatoes, parsley grrrrrr

My neighbor has a sensor sprinkler and says they work great. We're going to put in a garden so I suppose one of those doo dads should go on my list. :)

Regarding the sensor, when I go to weed or water I forget about it and get a shower :) We are going to plant more tomatoes...

I'm in the heart of Packer land. Here's one of my neighbor's wheels.

:yum: a mobile mail box. Too funny.

I had not heard of sprinklers with a sensor. Do they keep the varmints out of the garden? What a kewl idea.

I just planted 14 tomatoes a few weeks ago. It's been hot here so I've had to water like crazy.

I posted some pictures of "my" floor in another thread but since this thread is concerned with the kitchen (and the rest of "Fran's floor") I'll put them here. We're very pleased with the way the house turned out.

Someone asked about the kitchen island where the cooktop is located so here it is. The cooktop is all induction burners.

A couple views of the great room.

A short hallway from the kitchen leads to the sunroom. We learned at our last build in Wausau that a room like this gets a lot of use when it's just the two of us. This time is no exception. :)

Tell Fran that she has done a beautiful job decorating.

If my cooktop ever bites the dust, I plan to replace with a cooktop like yours. I love the look of it...smooth, clean, and low maintenance.
