Shermie Well-known member Feb 18, 2014 #8 I, also, usually do that, but if I'm using it to season a pot of greens, string beans or dried beans, the grease goes in the pot with it for more of the smokey flavor. Also, and at times, I use the grease to fry 2 eggs in it as well.
