Haggis from the net?

Where would the best place and the safest place to order haggis on the net?

Yes I do know what haggis is and I've been meaning to try it for years now.

I like to get the ingredients and make it my self or a kit and make it.
Why? Are you planning on poisoning the neighborhood cats or something?

Anyway, you might try the canned version, which I'm sure is just as yummy as homemade:

Product Description

A traditional skinless haggis made with the finest ingredients. Do not be a Haggis snob because it is in a can. This contains true Scottish Oats, lamb heart, lamb liver, pork fat and spices. Serve with neeps and taties (turnips and potatoes) and do not forget a wee dram of Scottish Whiskey. Weight 425g

Wee dram indeed! Despite having a wee dram of Scottish blood meself, I'd need half a liter of whiskey to down one bite of this stuff! Bleh!

All this talk about Haggis and lutefisk, I'm about to throw up my head cheese and blood-tongue sandwich.:yuk::puke1:

Oy, the stuff is horrid! Better to come to Stoughton, Wisconsin and eat leutifisk.

And just what's wrong with leutifisk?? :D

And tell me, Shepherd, do ye still play the pipes, laddie?

Year before last I had the opportunity to meet Pipe Major John Spoore. John was personal piper to the Queen Mum, and at her request, played at her funeral. (she was a Scotswoman, after all! :)

funny how someone who's never eatin haggis, says canned must be just as good:rolleyes:
Traditional haggis made with offal, is well, an acquired taste:puke1:

but, you can get haggis made now with ground cuts of lamb and pork, oats, garlic, onions. Like I said, tastes like breakfast hash. Hey, part of being a foodie is trying new and exciting food..right?
That said...a warning about "blood pudding" it looks like a rye muffin..it's not. Try a small bite.

I still play, not in a band anymore though. Mostly just for friends and myself. I used to do weddings and the usuall St. Pats day gigs, but I got tired of doing funerals.

Thats why I suggested the Bobby Burns Dinner, It was traditional. At least it was in the late '60's. I think food restrictions have been enacted since then.

Damn near 40 years and I still shudder at the memory.

I would try haggis again if it was made with ground cuts and such, no interest in being in the same building as traditional.

There's still a place in Edinburgh that makes it the "old way", it was on one of andrew zimmers' show
