I'm curious about why you think these stories would mess anybody up. Kids have the most amazing imaginations, it seems to me that they would take them in stride, and even add to them. I think incorporating ideas like this into stories gives people a feeling of power over what can be scary - like the plague.

it's not like a lot of the influences that kids have today where all you have to do is hit reset.
