Governor's Casserole (ham, vegs, cheese sauce)

The other day, I was pulling out a cookbook from my bookcase and this little pamphlet fell into my hands. I've had it for years and years, but never really looked at it. I really looked at it.

I picked out an easy-looking, different-for-me recipe and cut it in half. I just added some dried mustard to the cheese sauce.

Pretty good, but still somewhat bland. If I make it again, I would use fresh broccoli and cauliflower, a better chunk of ham and maybe a couple of different cheeses.

Sounds good. I like the toasted bread crumb topping. Maybe a combo of swiss and extra sharp cheddar cheese, hot sauce, dry mustard and maybe replace some milk with beer for the sauce. And use a nice smokey ham. May give you a little more flavor.

I was thinking the same thing! Great as a base recipe to make however the mood strikes you! Thank you Lee! ❤️
