Yup. We were in Naples for a couple of weeks, moving into a condo, cleaning, and closing on the house sale. It was hot and humid down there as usual but it certainly is the other extreme in Wausau today. Hey, DD is on the way here from Eagan right now. I'm not sure when we'll be headed your way but I suspect it shouldn't be too long from now so maybe we can do dinner or something. :)

I've got this thing going on with my belly...acted just like angina, but now they think it's acid reflux. It only happens at night, after I lay down, but it really hurts.
Sooo....I'm eating very carefully. DH cooked a great b'day dinner for a friend, and last night I ate my salad (hurt me, though). At noon, I sliced off some steak, and had that for a sandwich, and tonight I will have my baked potato.

This runs in my family. Just talked to my uncle, who said I should prop myself up when I sleep.

Wish me luck!

I had JoeV's Italian Wedding Soup for my dinner. I made kielbasa and fried potatoes for DH, that's all he wanted. I forgot to take of pic of the soup.....it was awesome and hit the spot!!!!

Some of us here on the left coast have not eaten dinner yet. I get off work in a few minutes, then I need to prepare dinner when I get home.

good luck, connie.

the thing about you only feeling pain when you lay down is the tip off that it's gerd, or acid reflux. when you lay down, the lack of gravity allows the acid in your stomach to flow back up past your lower esophogeal sphincter (says what?) causing your esophogus to burn.

also, people swallow less saliva when they sleep, so it doesn't get flushed back into the stomach as much.

you should get to a doc to make sure you don't have an ulcer in your stomach or duodenum. ulcers are usually easily treated as they're often caused by a bacteria called h. pylori.

do you take a lot of ibuprofin or aspirin? that will aggravate the condition.

my buddy omega boy went through this a few years ago. the sleeping propped up thing will only work for a while until even that won't help. he ended up being treated for an ulcer and now he only gets gerd every so often.

hth.

Thanks, BT. I have always had stomach problems that came and went...always suspected an ulcer. I have a heart echo scheduled for Monday, and will ask cardiologist to recommend a good stomach man (internist?) so I can get this straightened out.
