BUMMER! I'm sure any glazed donuts would work...You'll just need to cook a chicken or two to make room for your ice cream canister

My ice cream canister is in there and ready, and I do get pretty darn good donuts at our local supermarket bakery. Last time I made ice cream, though, it didn't set up well because the surrounding air is just too warm and humid. My plan for the next batch is to set the ice cream maker in the refrigerator, run the cord out the door and plug it in. Let the ice cream process in a cool environment....I just haven't tried it yet. My other problem - DH doesn't like any chunks of anything in his ice cream. But I could just split it in half and put donut crumbs in my half, couldn't I? OK, I'm on it.

You could probably put the donuts along with the milk in a blender and liquefy them. Then add it to the cream, sugar and eggs.

We just had leftover pizza from last night since the wife had a wedding rehearsal to do a half hour after getting home from work (she's the church's wedding coordinator). I already made the dessert, Oatmeal-Peach Cookie Bars , made from the peach preserves I made a week ago...Damn sweeeeeeeeet! Oh, the pizza was pretty good too. It was gourmet pizza from a new shop in town.

That looks so good Joe!!

Here's our dinner tonight, at Tacos Itzel...I've included some snapshots of our life here. First picture, the entrance. Second picture, our shy amiga Alejandra, who runs the restaurant, and after that, her daughter Itzel, for whom the restaurant is named. Jerry has a chicken enchilada...that's right, just ONE enchilada. It's huge, and covered in mole sauce. I always have two tacos, carne asada. The food is so fresh and so good. The surprise? There were six of us, and the bill came to $240 pesos (about $21.00). Less than $4 each. And we all had pineapple agua fresca, as well. Yummy dinner in a happy place.

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL Karen. Your friend and her daughter are beautiful ladies.

Thanks, Peeps. Yes, they are lovely. They are a little camera shy, and were surprised when I asked if I could take their pictures...

You guys should really consider a trip south of the border...it is such a magical place, and you have a friend to visit in Bucerias (just 10 miles north of Puerto Vallarta).

What a beautiful place, Karen. That burrito is HUGE and your tacos look so good. I'd love to visit one day.

Mama! Peeps! Joe! Karen!
Wow.. nice looking food!

I ended up eating cottage cheese tonight... but hey, I added some black pepper and tomatoes! Kitchen was closed by the time I put in an order off the dinner menu, so I walked over to AL and raided the fridge.

Thanks too for liking the sliders. Hope you all try some soon.

Nice dinners, drinks, and deserts everyone!

Nice photos Karen. It must be nice down there. My next door neighbor spends more than 10 months out of the year at their second home south of Rosarito Beach in the gringo community. It's such a relaxing way of life.

Here are the dino bones from last night. I think they shorted me a bone or two.....lol...
