Oh SNAP!!! Now THAT is how it is supposed to be! I'm so glad you had some corn on the cob and potatoes in there, and then you dumped it all on newspaper spread on the table. That is THE way to go!! Fantastic!!! Oh, the memories!!
We also had about 5 lbs of onions and 2 lbs of garlic in the bottom. Didn't eat either but it sure adds to the flavor. In addition to the crab boil we added a 1.75 oz bottle of cayenne pepper and the same in black pepper. It was hot to say the least especially the corn and potatoes. Oh yes and don't forget the 4 lbs of Andouille sausage right from Louisiana with the crawfish.
Thanks Mama and we had a great desert too that I can't take credit for a Dark Chocolate Cake with coffee and bourbon in the mix. I simply sliced it up with some wipe creme and grated chocolate over the whipped cream. As I said I may not eat tomorrow at all.
It is still in the sitting there un touched. It seems bourbon, coffee and chocolate was the desert of choice tonight as was the apple and cherry strudels. It seems I will be eating pie and strudel for breakfast the next couple of days.
I didn't realize people actually ate crawfish until a couple of nights ago while watching Emeril Lagasse on Emeril Live. But it's something i might be willing to try.
If you like shrimp, lobster or crab you should like it. It comes from fresh water is about the only difference which I think gives them a bit milder taste.
