The "Reduced for quick sale" cart usually has older bananas. And my fruit bowl frequently has some!

Same here.
Chief supermarket always has a cart with very ripe bananas that are wrapped in red thin tape.
They go fast!

I too occasionally let my bananas go off, instead of eating them before that happens.
