Boy Do I Have an Idea!

Came to me recently, and so excited that I'm starting it tonight to see if a test recipe will be worth sharing for the holidays. I enjoy bread pudding when I can get some. I make a pretty mean Brioche, and my eggnog is requested every holiday season. So it came to me: How about a completely scratch made eggnog bread pudding?! Doubt I'm the first to think of it, but I've never heard of it before. And regardless, hoping mine will be uniquely good since I'm using my scratch recipes and combining them for this trial. I'm starting tonight since my brioche is an overnight rise in the fridge. I can bake tomorrow, cool, cube, toast and proceed with my "master plan." LOL. Wish me luck, and I'll keep you posted. Final product won't be ready til Saturday since it needs time in the fridge to be just right. Cheers all!

Sounds absolutely fantastic to me, Rob!

Please post your recipe for eggnog when you have the chance.

Well, my plan was delayed, but finally made it last night. The first delay was that my brioche bread was disappointing, so I decided not to use it. Stinks that you get those here and there. I settled for a store bought Challah bread. After a night in the fridge, just tasted a while ago. It rocks!! As expected, a bit like French toast but cold with a pudding texture. Definitely worth the effort! Thanks for looking!

Actually made it just for the heck of it. Cold weather gives me a great excuse to run the oven. Still have the Raisin Cashew and Apple Fritter breads to make this weekend. Will post the eggnog recipe shortly.
