This is our new favorite salad. Not healthy but oh so yummy! :)

salad
1. lettuce of your choice.
2. Sliced or chopped red onion
3. Cherry or grape tomatoes cut in bite sized pieces
4. 2 whole onion flavored hambuger buns toasted in 1 tablespoon melted butter and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
5. 6 slices good thick bacon

Bacon
1. 1/4 cup brown sugar
2. 1 teaspoon paprika ( we use smoked)
3. grated zest of one lemon
4. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
5. sprinkle or two of ground thyme.

Dressing
1. 1/4th cup real mayo
2. 1/4th cup Miracle Whip
3. 2 tablespoons real Maple syrup
4. 4 teaspoons whole grain mustard
5. 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Mix the brown sugar, paprika, lemon zest, pepper and the thyme.
Press mixture into each side of the six bacon slices and lay on parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or so... bacon should be nice and camamelized. Cool and then cut into bite sized pieces.

Melt butter and add the garlic powder in a frypan. Add the cut up hamburger buns. Toast until nice and toasty brown.
Remove from pan and cool.

Dressing
Mix the all of the ingredients.

Top the salad mixture with the bacon and crispy hamburger buns
and serve with the dressing.

We also sometimes add cheddar cheese and sliced mushrooms.

Oh, this sounds WONDERFUL, Trish!

I love the idea of tossing onion rolls in, and the dressing sounds terrific!

Copying and saving for the warmer weather - thanks!

We decided last night that the dressing would make a wonderful fried zucchini dipping sauce Qsis! It's really that good.

Your recipe reminded me of a BLT salad I made w/ a few variations - croutons (herb & garlic), grape or halved cherry tomatoes, & buttermilk or ranch dressing. I usually have onion bagels or onion rolls on hand, so I may turn them into crunchy croutons.. Thanks for the ideas and recipe.
