Mexico isn't safe all the time either but do you know we think it's worth the risk because of the beauty and the lifestyle and the friends we have there?

Could you imagine that I have a friend who just returned from participating in a fishing tournament on the west coast of CR and was instructed not to leave the compound in which he was staying? Do you think he was happy that they had a bar there?
 
Isn't it the same everywhere these days..so shouldn't you just live where your heart and your soul can be happy? ( and your feet can be warm in the sand?)

No question mark at the end of this, and the reference is not my fishing friend who just returned a week ago. Thursday I had dinner with a couple who left today for CR, somewhere on the north western Pacific coast. They aren't worried. They're members of a rather high end "travel" club with a cool half million entry fee and they are staying at at highly guarded resort which is gated, guarded, and that includes indoor walking guards 24 hours a day. My wife Fran and I were invited to join them free of charge and we turned it down. We'll be joining them at another of their "vacation spots" at Sea Island, GA in April. The good ole US of A. My wife and I have between us 65 years of airline employment and have been all over the place. One of my biggest pleasures and biggest let downs was a seven block chase and take down of some A-Hole who pickpocketed me in Milan. The pleasure was that my money and credit cards were recovered and the let down was after three hours of filling out forms in the police department they let the SOB walk free.

When I go to a foreign country now it's called Scotland or Ireland, and occasionally, Miami South Beach. The beauty of Miami is that it is located so close to the United States.

Didn't mean to rant that much but the world is changing and it ain't global warming I'm talking about.
