2021 New Year's Eve and New Year's Day Menu

What are you doing for New Year's?

I have a tentative menu, but not sure how much I'll get done. Been having some pain and feeling kind of lousy.

I'll post the complete menu of what we're having later or tomorrow.

For now, we will definitely be having sandwiches - I have bread, rolls, lettuce, tomatoes, meats and cheeses.
 
I never order Chinese food on New Year's Eve.

Tonight we're having a noshing table in front of the TV. Pigs in blankets, shrimp cocktail, spanikopita, Peep's Green Olive Tapenade, deviled eggs, kidney bean/relish dip (a nostalgic choice that I haven't had since weekend dinners - that WAS dinner - in college).

There will only be 3 of us, since one of our friends is in the hospital with pneumonia.

Tomorrow night will be split pea soup with a meaty ham bone that a friend gave me.

That's basically what we have. An assortment of salads, dips, spreads, chips and sandwich fixings.

Lee, do you put anchovy in the Green Olive Tapenade?
 
I also made the tapenade. Mine isn’t as smooth as usual because I used my large processor this time for a small amount and it doesn’t get it as smooth.
I’ve been prepping for several hours. I’m waiting for DD to get out of work. I have a few more things to do. Was going to make a cheesecake and a fruit tart but they may have to wait till tomorrow.
I’ll post the menus and some pictures later or tomorrow. I’m beat. May not make it to midnight.

Black Bean and Corn Salad/Salsa
Salsa
Onion Dip
Green Olive Tapenade
Bruschetta
Blue cheese dip
And an Italian hero.
