So yesterday I'm heading South on I75 and....

suddenly two vehicles where in the north bound ditch, one ramming the triple cable center guard, pieces of car flying everywhere (looked like a bomb going off), and if the cable broke I was going to have a windshield full of misery. I was in the left hand of three lanes and dove for the far...

    GOD LOVES DRUNK PEOPLE TOO

GOD LOVES DRUNK PEOPLE TOO A man and his wife were awakened at 3:00 am by a loud pounding on the door. The man gets up and goes to the door where a drunken stranger, standing in the pouring rain, is asking for a push. "Not a chance," says the husband, "it is 3:00 in the morning!" He...

    Best Steak Ever

Our local grocery is a Publix and we've always found their selections excellent. Fran came home with a couple of fillets today and we did something a little different. Remember when some restaurants used to serve steak on toast? We do. Publix has a brand new bread, Jalapeno Cheddar Demi Loaf...

Red Grouper today - best ever recipe

Fantastic day on the water about 40 miles west of Sanibel Island. At the first stop, with five peeps fishing, we had three separate occasions where three fish were hooked up simultaneously. At stop two we had a huge school of amberjack surrounding the boat. We estimated as many as thirty...

    Are any of you hunters?

We have some fishermen among us but do any of you hunt? I'm originally from North Dakota where my family hunted for generations and I've lived in both Fargo and Bismark. Growing up in my family meant that you hunted, period. It was a large part of my life as my father was a passionate...

    swirling as opposed to stirring?

There is a recipe in the Food Network Magazine, Oct. 2011, pg. 92 for Andrea's Cinnamon Raisin-Nut Toffee. Excerpt: "Heat the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until it just begins to melt. Cook, swirling the pan but not stirring, until most of the sugar has melted, about 10...

Bacon wrapped scallops with maple syrup

Re: Something new with scallops The maple syrup was too sweet for our tastes. i believe we'll be permanently making the bacon wraps sans syrup though. In addition, we were wandering around Trader Joe's and found this other use for maple syrup:

Revolutionary New Way To Calibrate Your TV

A new, large step beyond and I just posted the following on an electronics site. A while back I started this thread. In it, David Abrams said (my red coloring): David is correct in that no LUT is needed if the display meets the above requirements. The problem is that consumer level displays...

    Prayer request

I've been very quiet on the forum for some time now as my family has been going through some painful experiences. On September 7th, just before my wife and I left the house to go to what should have been a fun filled high school reunion, we learned that her youngest sister, age 52, was not going...

Revolutionary New Way To Calibrate Your TV

    What's cooking NCT July 29 - August 4, 2012?

We're watching the Olympics and used the living room pop up coffee table again. Fran browned the chicken and then added chicken broth, garlic, a jalapena, potato, and onions. The subtle garlic and pepper turned the chicken into cuisine gold. These along with a squash made a killer meal.
