I got a wheel fixed at Ford this morning / no charge and happy about that. Tonight is Amelia’s first concert at the Jr. High.

Today’s lunch at my gun club was gas grilled Polish sausage, sauerkraut, beans, and my wife’s German potato salade. Her potato salade was a hit. She made it with potatoes leftover from what she cooked for the tortilla and didn’t need, so they were on the mushy side but no one complained.

Her pie filling was 🍏 and cranberries mixed and turned into sauce so was canned as a sauce. She tried a different recipe and got two quarts that look correct. They’d make a good cobbler. I think it better to freeze the pre made fresh apples which she has made enough for two pies.

No problem. She has a paperback preserving cookbook she’s been using. I’ll get it later today. I’m at Ford garage getting a damaged lug stem repaired and will take 4 hours. It’s their fault but can’t prove it. It’s messing up my day.

Nancy made chutney this morning and is out buying more apples 🍏 to make four quarts of pie filling. I ate the leftover chutney and it is quite tasty - will have to get a pot roast….

Nancy made brandied apple rings yesterday and they are quite tasty.

Friday I put a plastic tub out to rinse out and this morning there is 3" of rain water in it. It's still raining lightly. We needed it.

Tonight I’m making breakfast for dinner; bacon 🥓, scrambled eggs 🥚, and leftover Spanish tortilla. I’ve been craving pancakes 🥞 but that may be over the top.

Nancy made a Spanish tortilla with pickles and olives on the side. The aioli was excellent. It was vegetarian night and Peter and John A. were here. It was all good.

She got 4 quarts.

My dessert was the mincemeat that didn’t fit in the jars. This is really good.

Nancy made an artisan bread for tonight. It’s a simple recipe consisting of flour, yeast, salt, and water.

We had leftover seafood stew, artisan bread, and cheddar cheese.

I don’t think he likes it. We’ll see. He loves apple pie. She used the Betty Crocker recipe.

Nancy started a big batch of vegetarian mincemeat yesterday. It sure smells good….

Supper was basic…. Hotdogs, Reser’s potato salad and macaroni salad.
