Mama
Queen of Cornbread
Seriously! The house kitty corner to my backyard is a rental. There was what appeared to be a family of a mom, two grown men, two little girls (maybe 3 & 4 years old)and 3 dogs move in about a month ago. I've seen the little girls outside playing maybe twice since they've been there.
The other day, we called the humane society. The backyard is fenced. Two of the dogs are tied up. One is tied to the fence on a leash that's maybe 6 feet long. Can't get to any shelter. Another is tied to a dog house that has maybe a 6 foot chain. The third runs loose in the yard. We had a hail storm the other day of about pea sized hail and all I could think about was that poor dog that couldn't get to any shelter. DH asked me if I had seen anyone up there in the past week. I told him that I hadn't and there were never any lights on and the blinds are all closed...day and night. DH went up there and looked and they had no food or water and there ribs were showing. We called the Humane Society. They came out and surprisingly the mom was in the house. She came out and gave the dogs food and water while the dog catcher stood there. He apparently didn't do anything about them being tied up like they are...the one doesn't even have shelter. I don't understand. I guess I'll just have to keep calling the Humane Society until they do something. That just seems awfully cruel to me. I never see anyone paying any attention to the poor things.
But besides that, what is going on. There are NEVER any lights on. The blinds are ALWAYS closed. Is it just me or is this really STRANGE?
