What's for dinner - Friday 4-24

Are you kidding? Vera, you, of all people, would be pretty hard to forget!!!

Tonite is grandson Sammys school carnival, so I'm guessing dinner will consist of cotton candy, snow-cones, those tubes full of flavored sugar and possibly hot dogs!

Don't forget the funnel cakes!!!!!

Pasta - can someone tell me, I cooked up Italian sausage on Tues & refrigerated it. Do you think it's still okay to use tonight?:bounce:

I would. I still have cooked chicken in the fridge that I'm going to dice up in a minute and freeze.

No idea what's for dinner tonight. DH is going golfing with some buddies, so we may go out after that.

Chicken and Dumplins tonight

I'm hoping pork chops, but I only took them out of the freezer and put them in the fridge this morning.... We'll see how thawed they are. Pork is close to chicken with me, something I only like to thaw in the fridge.
Going for a bike ride after work anyway, so no hurry.

Aw, you got a hog eh?

I'll do you one better, Pulled pork sandwiches w/ aujoo sauce!

Brand new hog as a matter of fact. Just got it this afternoon. Traded in the old hog.

Good looking sandwich. I should really start doing something different with the bread and rolls I use.

I really in truly envy you guys that can afford the BIG BOYS TOYS. And thank you, That's a toasted garlic & onion bagel roll I got from super wally world.

Ok Derek, I am desperate to know, how do you make the aujoo sauce?
Little juice from the roast, and the bbq sauce, No salt since meat is salty by nature and I dis like salt. And mix with a soon.

By the I really hate salt and I don't use a lot of it, for the blanching of the veggies I use and some recipes I use it but that's it.

Sounds good Derek. And I agree that salt is not good in quantity. You can get by with a small amount by using baconsalt.

What, no fried twinkies???:dizzy:

Apple Glazed Country Style ribs with garlic butter injection. I’ll post the recipe later once the pics are done.

First of all...do you guys even remember me?? I am soooooooo tired of dooing 12-15 hour days:sad:. I was ready for tonight on Monday morning!

The plan, as of this moment is to be outside outside outside.

We're drinking VeraBluetinis while enjoying shrimp fajitas with mango salsa and guacamole. Shrimp cooked on the wood fireplace has a great flavour.

Probably make a cheese and fruit platter as well.

The week we endured here is crying for chocolate...lots of it.

Oooooooh, what's in a VeraBluetini??

I don't think I've ever had a not-wrapped eggroll, but I'm intrigued. Can you point me at a pic or tell me how the real ones are made?

There used to be a great chinese restaurant here in Seattle that made authentic egg-battered egg rolls but unfortuneatly went out of business after 50 yrs. I have yet to find another place that makes them that way but I am bound and determined to!!

My favorite Chinese take out is the Hunan Beef (hot), Mongolian Beef (hot), fried rice with BBQ pork, Wonton egg drop soup with extra wontons. I will occationally get some egg rolls also assorted types.

I could never get into egg rolls. There's just something about them....
Since I only get Chinese about 1.5 times every two years, I always get two meals. General Tsaos (sp?) chicken and something else, usually a beef curry or something. And pork or shrimp fried rice.

I love Mongolian Beef, Joe. Right now, I'm into Orange Crispy Beef - I can't get enough of it! And really good Hot and Sour soup.
