Sass, given a choice between a seafood feast combo platter and almost anything I would cook here at home on such a hot day, I would jump at the seafood platter. And, I'll bet it's air-conditioned in there, right? And iced tea. Sounds wonderful. Good for you.
It was freezing in there lol

I could go for some freezing today - it rained for a few minutes this morning, then the sun came out and created a steam bath. Temps around 90, with 90% humidity. Yuk.

Peeps, your gravy never fails to astound me. That is a delicious-looking dinner! Nice fond on the chicken.

No No luvs.....I know that you are a great chef

Little Miss Suzy Homemaker was a saying in the 60's for a girl that excelled in cooking. It was just a way of complimenting a woman that was exceptionally great in either the kitchen / the baking of cakes and cookies and pies.

Actually, in the early 60's, there was a Doll "Suzy Homemaker" by one of the toy company's. It came with accesories such as little ovens and washing mahines and pots and pans. They are collectable now.

DW calls Our Daughter.."Little Miss Suzy Homemaker!"

In the 60's...it was not a time period that that many Men cooked. yes..some were noted as Chefs...or had cooking shows on TV..
Today .... women are notable chefs, and it basically started with Julia Childs being on the TV cookin show of hers.
Now look and see how many great women cooks there are. lots ..

Yeah! Where the Heck Did Nick at Night Go????/ I used to watch that with the kids.
My favorite was the Shake & Bake commercial...when the little girl says,"Ann.. Wee ..Hailpt!" in her cute little Southern accent.

I just bought a dvd with 1000 TV commercials starting way way back into the 50's... I love watching the old commercials.

DD's Favorite when she was teenie weenie...was "Sha Na Na"! group.
She took over the TV, and would sing along with the turkey Baster...she would pretend it was a microphone.
She was like 5 ...and we took her to the ShaNaNa concert at the Allentown PA Fairgrounds where they were performing. She fell asleep through the whole show, and boy oh boy...when she woke up...all heck broke loose. She was screaming that it was our fault she fell asleep, and we should have woke her up. Believe me...We tried!

i remember that commercial from somewhere.
jimmy, i get some of those shows on the higher channels- mostly ones in color tho.

thanks sass....

I got stuck watching more that were there.

There is one that I cannot find...and I keep telling DW and my son about the commercial with the parrot in the cage, and the voice says, " Please........Do not eat the bird, but with a spanish accent on the word Bird. More like Bairred.
Tina keeps telling me it was in a dream, but I remember it was a FOOD commercial that had that parrot in the cage. Son say's it was Hawaiian Punch commercial. I don't think so. It was in late 70's early 80's...
I googled just about everything to find it, and came up with ( 0 ).

i remember that commercial from somewhere.
I think there was another one that I remember..
Probably not the one I posted.
It was a little girl herself in the Shake and Bake commercial with her Mother in the kitch.
The one Jimmy may be talking about.

Oh! Thank you so much. Now DW won't think I'm Crazy Nutz.

That is the parrot with the accent...but I believe..there was one of the same company commercial with the parrot in the cage, and the bird said...I guess to the cat... "Please...Do not Eat The Bird!"

Great...Thank you so much.
