Default Ingredient Showcase ... Beans

This is a Showcase of a single ingredient.

Each entry should revolve around the showcase ingredient.

There are no rules just a single dish or a meal involving the showcased ingredient.

When possible entry may include your recipe/instructions (or a link to your recipe). Pictures of your entry are always welcome and would be wonderful but not mandatory.

Let's have fun with this!!

And the star of this Showcase is ...

Ingredient Showcase Beans (dry or canned beans)

Including Kidney, navy, pinto, black, lima, black eyed peas etc. NOT fresh beans like string beans, green beans, wax beans etc.

Oh, YAY! I can play this one!

I have a big ham bone from a Honey of a Ham that my friends brought to me, and they also bought the mix of dried beans that HOH store features.

Going to make a ham and bean soup this weekend!

Here's my bean dish - chicken chili made with little white beans (they are called "alubia" here, but they are similar to navy beans, but maybe a little smaller and whiter.) Very very good beans. Mexico is definitely THE place to find a wide variety of unusual and delicious dried beans.

Karen, the chili looks spectacular, but I am always so impressed with how great your tortillas look!

I'd be chowing down on those babies, and maybe leave a little room for the chili!

I figure I'd better post something here, since I eat some kind of bean almost every day. Here is one of my favorite pasta sauces, made with cashews and and chickpeas.

Chickpea Alfredo:

And, since my last few blog posts have been bean-related posts, here's two more.

Three Bean Salad:

vyapti,

Not only does the food look delicious, but so does your blog. I hadn't checked it out in a couple of months, and was surprised to see how much it has evolved. It looks really professional, the photos & recipes quickly draw you in.

Thanks, SS. I did a major update this winter. I'm glad you like it.
