Yippee - got my computer back this afternoon!

Woo-hoo...finally got my computer back, with a nice new hard drive (160G!). Am I crying because my hard drive crashed? Not a bit. The whole thing was backed up on http://carbonite.com and it is in the process of restoring itself as I type this...ALSO, I still had all my original program disks, so that was good, too. I don't know what computer repair costs are in the US, but this was VERY cheap at $1800 pesos ($126 USD at today's exchange rate).

That is a probably little less if at all that it would cost here. 160 gig drives are pretty cheap now and labor to install one really only takes a couple of minutes to do so you probably wind up paying for an hours service work.

So Karen, are you a fan of conservative talk radio (I am). This is highly advertised by the Rush man. LOL

Oh crap!

No. I didn't know that because I NEVER listen to the Rush man. Well, I will admit that we agree on ONE thing. Carbonite is great. That's about it.

What games can ya play on it

I'm not much of a gamer....I used to play all the Tomb Raider games, but then I met my sweetheart and decided to spend my spare time with him instead....

Well, he is my favorite oxycotton addict and I do find him entertaining at times. Does that count?

I really admired Rusty's grandfather, Rush Hudson Limbaugh, Sr. a whole lot more. Rush Sr. was noted for his moderation and humility and accomplished far more in his life. He was cultured, genteel, quiet and polite. True to his ideals. Everything his grandson is not. Oh, and if you have any doubt, he was a Republican but far more moderate and respectable than "Rusty". Rusty claimed him to be his role model and imho, should have followed his example more closely.

Welcome back Karen. Good price on the repair, and nice to see you were all backed up. I have a 300GB portable drive that I use for backup of my 2 Macs. It's just the smart thing to do if you have important documents or tons of pictures like many of us do.

BTW, Rush tells it like it is, without the political correctness so many find necessary to use in their vocabulary today. Liberals hate him, Conservatives love him. Oh well... Welcome Home!

Meanwhile, back to Karen's computer, I'm glad you're back. We need to learn more about your little town and your art.

Her art is amazing! Karen is very talented and is a commissioned artist. Her use of color and subject matter is fascinating to me. I enjoyed seeing her art work. (Gee, Karen, do I sound like I could be your agent or cheerleader?)

Aw shucks, guys. Thanks for the nice compliments. It's SO nice to be here among friends, even if we don't all agree about Rush, et. al. That's what keeps life interesting, right? I remember reading a quote by Billy Graham's wife a long time ago, "if two people agree about everything, one of them is unnecessary." Es verdad!
