Re: Hi there

Welcome aboard! So good to have you here. Since you're from South Africa, any chance you've used a Potjie? I really want one of those!!

Re: Hi there

Hi Duppies. Welcome to Net Cooking Talk. I'm glad you found us.
Enjoy and post often. :thumb: :D

Re: Hi there

Welcome aboard and looking forward to some recipes as well from South Africa. Loved some of the dishes I had when I was there years ago.

Hi

Hi everyone

How are you guys doing? I am a newbie to this forum. I am originally from South-Africa, but currently work and stay in the UK.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New year :thumb:

Thanks for all the warm welcomes everyone. To answer your question Keltin: Yes. It is so much fun but takes ages unless you make a Bacon Potjie. My dad makes a killer pot and the other day a friend of mine (who is a fantastic cook), made a chicken cheesy pasta dish in a potjie. Anything is possible....
Thanks for reminding me, it's about time we get some friends over and make an event out of it :bounce:

That's awesome Duppies! I've got an Outdoor Dutch Oven (often called a Campfire Dutch Oven) that is identical in function to the Pojtie, but shaped differently. I love using it!

We post recipes for using the Outdoor DO here:

http://www.netcookingtalk.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=74

You could make any of those in a Potjie, and I'd LOVE to see your Potjie recipes get posted! I'll definitely make them in my Outdoor DO if you post them!

I can't find anyone local that sells the Potjie, so I'll probably have to order one online. I think their shape and design is really cool. I just love the look of a potjie, so I must have one!

Welcome Duppies. If I might be so bold as to ask, what is the origin of your screen name? It's very unique.
