Who's watching the Royal Wedding?

The Brits really know how to do it up right. This sort of television programming isn't normally my cup of tea but I must admit that HDTV has come a long way. I have a very large display and could look right into Kate's mom's eyes when Kate entered the church.

For those of you who have never been to London, the scenery on the telly is very much like being there. At least that's the feeling I get and I've been to those specific places several times.

My wife's sister an niece up in the Milwaukee area got up at 2AM to start watching. They even made a cake to "participate" in the celebration. Hysterical. ;)

lol
The one thing that stood out for me was seeing Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie and how their looks have changed so much!
It warmed my heart catching a glimpse of a lot of things.

Those are Fergie's daughters?

I saw the wedding gown on Yahoo. BEAUTIFUL!!

I don't think you can help but catch the wedding on the television. I have to say though, Kate looked beautiful. Her sister did as well.

I turned it on this morning while I was eating breakfast before work. The couple was still at the alter, having just said their vows.

I was surprised at how riveted I was! The television coverage, as Buzz said, was EXCELLENT!! The choirs, the trumpets, the church bells, the horse-drawn carriages ... it was all magnificent!

I had a hard time tearing myself away to go to work!

I love the little girl at the bottom of this pic. Pretty much the same that I'm beginning to feel

Well, I was bored with it all several days ago - we have had nothing but royal wedding for days and TV & radio has not been worth watching today

William wedding a commoner would have not been accepted if this had happened years ago within the House Of Windsor.
Thank goodness we are in different times, and that he has all the influences from his Mother instilled in him to be a strong and what I think will be, a faithful and loving husband.
I really do think they are in love!

Makes you wonder what the late Edward Vlll and the Duchess of Windsor (Wallis Simpson) would have thought about it.

Oh wait.. Mrs. Simpson wasn't a commoner.. she was a gold digger who took advantage of a weak man who was obviously smitten with her.
Sad tale that.

thank god it 's over.

that's tbe best i can do as an american first, irishman second, tv engineer third.

i hope they have a good life, living on the high end of the dole.

That's funny...
First, I'm an American too
Second, I'm not an Irishman...but I am a Scot.
And third, I'm not a tv engineer, but I am a household engineer

....and I feel the same way :bounce:.

I loved it, watched it live and recorded it.
It costs about $1.60 a person a year to support the monarchy. The royals give more to charity in one day than I'll be able to give in my lifetime. Let alone the amount they raise by lending their support.
William and Kate are postponing their honeymoon so he can go back to work as a helicopter rescue pilot. They'll be living in the same house they've been living in for the last year, 1500 square feet, with no servants. and she does her own shopping.

I had to pay a visit to Dr. Doom (the dentist) yesterday, so I was feeling pretty poorly when I got home. I piled up on the sofa and watched all the Kate and William stuff on Lifetime. They went through Kate's background, Will's background, Princess Di's background, Charles's background, etc. They also did a comparison of Kate and Princess Di and went through both of their fashion choices. I quite liked it. Love that British accent....they eat pizzar, not pizza :).

She's hot.

Well, yeah, there is that.

Good, solid looks, too.

William wedding a commoner would have not been accepted if this had happened years ago within the House Of Windsor.

And as I heard on the radio the other day, from an Englisher no less, and a bit of a paraphrase, Kate brings fresh blood to the English Royalty which is suffering somewhat from inbreeding.

And when I heard that I thought, Damn, glad someone finally said that out loud.

Oh wait.. Mrs. Simpson wasn't a commoner.. she was a gold digger who took advantage of a weak man who was obviously smitten with her.
Sad tale that.

I heard he liked being dominated which does not necessarily mean someone is weak.

And then there is Charles ... Whatever happened to him?

thank god it 's over.

Pretty much.

I turned on the news, the wedding was playing, I watched about 30 seconds of it, wondered how anyone could stay awake for that whole thing, realized that "music" would probably help, was glad we got married by a judge, and realized Phillip (?) had been born into and raised for these kind of ..... things.

Scott here.

No doubt Great Grandpa McAndrew would have more to say about the whole affair than I.

i hope they have a good life, living on the high end of the dole.

There are some people who will defend that ....

When Diana got herself killed the Englishers in the motorcycle lists were fighting over whose turn it was next,

And Charles .... Whatever happened with Charles? Did he ever do anything? I mean other than ride some horse, I think the name was Camilla, and take part in equestrian events.

They had themselves a big to do too.

Mayhaps this couple will show themselves to be of higher quality, and in reflection, that wouldn't be too difficult.

I also heard this is unusual:

... Kate Middleton has invited a butcher, a postman and an India-born shopkeeper and his wife from her village in Berkshire for her royal wedding ...

There are things I know that I'm embarrassed to know. Like Bruce Willis coercing the film makers to dub hair on him in some scenes of 1991's(?) Hudson Hawk, and that it drove the film over budget.

Seems that for the longest time even if I stuck to the most news news I can find there is still this BS Pop Culture creeping in.

And I haven't much cared about Pop Culture since the time I realized I had Zero chance of getting laid by Farrah Fawcett.
