What's this all about?

What's going on with not always being able to thank someone for their post? Several times I've wanted to add my name to thanks at the bottom of a post from someone and when I do this I get a message telling me emphatically to "Remove my thanks". What gives with that? I haven't even been able to add thanks where others have already thanked someone. Odd.

Let me look around and see if I can find a mention of that on the vb help forum. I'll also check the settings.

We may have to get Doc involved.

I thanked Jim for his post, which worked well. At the right of the thanks window, I saw a link labeled remove your thanks.

If I click that link, it removes the thanks that I just gave. This is an option in case you decided you changed your mind about the thanks you just gave. It is not an instruction asking you to remove your thanks.

Is this what you are speaking about?

Thank you, Andy - yep, that's the one. I assumed that it was telling me to do so and, since I seem to be addicted to doing what I'm told - I therefore did exactly that. Now I'll go back and try thanking folks again. Part of my confusion was the fact that I'd simply never seen this before.
