What's On The Plates Sunday October 6 - Saturday 12

This rice is just okay.
Nothing thrilling.

From what's plated, I ate half, then put the rest inside the tortilla with the green onion and munched through it.
I'll put the leftovers in the freezer to use in a chili recipe this winter.

Chicken, mushrooms, olives, capers and lots of my garden vegs. A splash of red wine vinegar, a dash of sugar, s & p. Topped with grated Parmesan. This was a Weight Watchers recipe - I just added the mushrooms to it.

And a glass of Cabernet.

Lee

Garden vegetables.

That last bacon I bought was Walmart brand.
It said it was supposed to be hickory smoked.
Could have fooled me. It had absolutely no flavour really.
I'll stick to name brands from now on.
The best store branded bacon I've had is Kirkland, from Costco. It is outstanding. You have to buy several pounds at a time, but if you split it with someone, it's not so bad. And it freezes well.

Do you have a Costco membership?

We like Sugardale bacon from Ohio. Tina gets it in Sam's Club, or Weis Markets in Pennsylvania, if they have it. I usually cook the bacon because I like my bacon a little rubbery. I could eat bacon by the pound, not slices.LOL
