Bacon avocado sandwiches for breakfast. We grilled a bunch of burgers last night, so probably going leftover burgers at some point! I'm really craving a chili dog!

This was last night: jumbo stuff clam and homemade Caesar. Just enough!

Today I’m grilling brats, bockwurst, and Polish sausage. Nancy is making German potato salad, sauerkraut, and a German cake. We got pretzel rolls at Hess Grocery in Lakewood and a German cake mix.

Decided to have the last ear of corn and some pickles too.

Today I’m grilling brats, bockwurst, and Polish sausage. Nancy is making German potato salad, sauerkraut, and a German cake. We got pretzel rolls at Hess Grocery in Lakewood and a German cake mix.

I made a curry ketchup to put on the bochwurst.

Just recouping from a power failure for most of yester day. Just as we were ready to set out the food for the 4th , ( Burgers, dogs, salads, beans, etc. ) .... and POOF! ..... Massive power failure.
So.... I set up the Power Generator, and we ran off grid till around 2200 hrs.
Internet and television is out even now. DD,s friend gave me a portable wifi device just 1 hour ago, and I am working on that now. ( different internet provider ).
Today, we all ate light. Salads, leftover burgers, and whatever.
Fingers crossed we don't have another power loss! It's lightening out now.

The Emergency generator ran the A/C in the kitchen, and the bed room. We at least survived the heat. Comcast TV and Internet is still out, but this portable wifi is allowing me to at least use the internet.

Thank goodness for that, Jimmy.
I know some people in Cuyahoga county who were without power for days running off First Energy.

You all made me crave BLT, so we had one for lunch today. Dinner was corn, avocado, tomatoes. Almost meatless Monday. (I don’t think bacon counts).

Tina and DD had an egg muffin with cheese and bacon , and that was brunch.
Supper was spaghetti saved from the other day; for me. Tina and DD had chips and dips with salsa.

Using the last of the 4th of July Italian sausage, I made a pasta sauce. We had it with garden cucumbers AND garden cherry tomatoes.

I made a casserole that I saw a woman on Facebook make. Mix a bag of cole slaw mix with a can of black beans, chopped onion, minced garlic, a cut up chicken breast (I poached it) that you've sprinkled taco seasoning over, and a can of enchilada sauce. Top with shredded Mexican blend cheese and sliced fresh jalapeno. Oven at 350 for half an hour. I managed to salvage a few cilantro leaves from my plant. Very good!

I had the last of the German potato salade, kraut, and two brats. Dessert was a piece of Cream de Menthe cake Nancy is taking to her quilt guild potluck tonight. Tasty!!!
