What's For Dinner? 🙂 Sunday May 17 - Saturday 23 2026

There is something therapeutic about baking bread. I used to knead it by hand, but I use my stand mixer I got for Christmas about 5 years ago quite a bit. I have also seen a lot of no-knead recipes out there that make it really easy. I can post one for you later if you like.

I've been busy with some work stuff lately that has me limited on time to do much bread baking lately. Plus my husband doesn't really eat it that much. His mom loved my homemade bread and I would make it for my in-laws most of the time they came for dinner, but she passed away two years ago and FIL has isolated himself and refuses our invitations now...

Anyway, let me know if you want an easy recipe for bread, and I am sure others here have good recipes for it, too.

Nancy made quiche Lorraine to take to a pot luck tomorrow and one is for our supper.

Sure....Thank you, I will like to see that recipe for bread. Tina has one that is a batter bread, and it's great for making French toast.

Making tacos tonight. Seasoned beer, sauteed peppers and onions, green chilies, grated cheese and lettuce. Hubby likes sour cream on his, I put a little ranch dressing on mine! I set it up as a 'fix your own ' taco bar. I'll try to get pictures tonight!!

Last night’s quiche was good but the Pillsbury pre made frozen crust was a disappointment and could not get pieces out of disposable aluminum pie plate without crust sticking. The quiche was not custard like but very firm. We ate it cold, so there is that. I do not recommend the frozen pie crusts.

I do like the Marie Callender frozen ones. They are a little more expensive but worth it. Also the refrigerator Pillsbury ones (Aldi has their store brand refrigerator ones that are good) that you press in your own pie plates are good.

I've used this recipe several times and it's really good.
Thanks.... Reading all about this recipe, is making me drool and waiting to try the bread. This would be a great bread buttered with butter cooled at a spreadable consistency to actually Bite the butter a bit.
