Whats for Dinner Oct 6th

Funny, I just sent my wife an IM asking about what to do for dinner and then I come here and see this thread. :)

We're still in the planning stages. Especially since we're still stuck in Fridge-limbo. The current delivery date has been pushed all the way back to October 21st now. :(

(So... we're probably going out. At least we're trying to stimulate the economy and supporting the local eateries and watering holes ;))

My foot is still out of commission. Waiting for my grocery delivery. If all goes according to plan, semi-homemade. Meatballs w/ tomato vodka sauce (and a little half-and-half) in the slow cooker, & spinach & cheese-stuffed ravioli.

gosh where the heck is it coming from lol I got mine the very next morning & I bought it the night before. Lowes..they even put the old one outside. Hooked up my ice maker.

Today is going to be "Anything I eat will be Attitude Day!"

DW this morning was making a shopping list for some new recipe she wants to make.. ok?
Well..she asks me,"What do you think about substituting chicken Breastmeat instead of thighs?"

I answered saying,"what ever you want; knock yourself out!".......chicken is not what will be on my palate today or ever!"
"My Old MacDonald Farm song does not have Cluck ..Cluck.. Quack..Quack or Honk ..Honk ...Gobble Gobble!"

My song plays..." Oink...Oink.. Moo ..Moo.. Splish..Splash" only!"

Send me some onion soup please.

It will probably be roast beef hash or quick beef barley soup using the leftover roast beef and gravy from last night.

I am eating leftover home-made tacos (as I type this) for lunch...still in the planning-for-dinner stage. I have to run to the store later this afternoon to get some milk, so I'd better figure out my dinner before then so I can get what's needed.

Or just go and while you shop the sales a meal will pop up. I love doing that. Sometimes a meal turns out fantastic and costs next to nothing. LOL

That might just be how this shopping trip plays out. I don't mind coming up with a meal on the fly...something might just catch my eye. :chef:

OR, you go for milk spend $100 & still have nothing for dinner. :yum: :bonk: and that would be me.....

Supper was just finished...
A Pickle Pimento on a roll... two doughnuts..a meatball..and rotelli with hot tomato sauce and cheese...

DW had some mushroom soup that ShopRite sells in the deli..
She has a pot of her Chicken soup cooking on the stove.
She added a turnip in the soup this time. That's rare for her to make soup like that with something different than onion / celery / carrots.

She and DD went food shopping...Together today....and they were both Hungry when they went. They seemed to come back with the store. LOL

DW bought a nice piece of fish, but that will be for tomorrows lunch or dinner.

Ha Ha Ha ...I'm watching Leave it To Beaver as I'm at the computer, and I'm snickering at June Cleaver serving her husband Ward...coffee with her dress; apron; and ear rings..and her hair all perfectly made up.
I said to Tina,"Hey hon, do you think you will ever serve me like that?" ...she said,"yeah, when I come to water the flowers on your grave, I'll make sure I spill enough on your head stone!" ...LOL...

We'll be having omelets for dinner. He's been craving them and we've been out of eggs for several days now, so off to the store soon to make "breakfast for dinner" happen, hehe.

My back is feeling better today, following a bonding session with my incline machine. So I took advantage of feeling better and made a loaf of honey whole wheat bread a dozen sandwich thins, a loaf of artisan no-knead, and spaghetti dinner with a nice salad.

Artisan no-knead...

OOoooooo!!!!!!! Looks Good Joe! ... The bread looks great.
Nothing like Fresh Bread from the oven.

Last night I tried a new recipe "Tandoori Fish", using some nice Striped Bass (aka Rockfish) filets. Served with Indian-style Spinach with Chickpeas & warm Indian Naan bread.
