The kitchen has been a mess with flour and sugar and pans all over for baking cookies and such for Christmas.

We had been grabbing what we felt like eating, and or ordering take out.

Tonight, the girls wanted Chinese Takeout. They made a list, and checked it twice, but only to find .... the Chinese was closed; except for the mice!
They are closed Mondays! ( Tears ) ..... so then it was an order from Franks the pizza and restaurant up town. Yuuck! I had breaded breaded which was no egg plant. Air Plant if you asked me! The garlic bread was wet and limp.
The joiks put tomato sauce on the inside of the italian hoagie bread that they toasted. No More Franks for us... That's it for them.

Tomorrow is the last day of cookies (Thank God ). Tina wants to make her Welsh Cookies!
I guess we don't get into cooking heavy until Christmas Eve. Fish Night for us!... Then the big dinner on Christmas Day. Food; Food ; and more Food!

At least DD is finished baking! God love her, she is a great baker, but can she slop up the kitchen!! Holy xxit!
She cleans it up, but everything gets put in the wrong spot, and in the wrong cupboards.
I don't care, because at least she is happy!

Today was a rotisserie chicken from Weis Market.

I ate a liverwurst sandwich instead! Then for a snack, I had a fried bagel.

Today ( just turned wednesday ) will be the prep for the huge fish dinner tonight, and then the prep for the Christmas day dinner. Lasagna / turkey / ham / kielbasi ...and all the other stuff.

oh my. Christmas is on, & my Mom & Vinny'll be in charge. i figure i'll be sipping wine & makin' pie. i despise baking foods. it's Christmas, tho, so i have to gulp my disdain. bought them a nut-roll w/ my drinking $$. that was 1 expensive item! oh, well- my Parents quite matter to me.
i'll be in charge of potato salad & additional sides.

Yesterday was baking day. DW made cookies & cupcakes, and I made rye & egg breads to be used tonight and Christmas Day. Today I made marinara and Polish Sourdough Rye bread & sandwich thins. The thins are on their way out of the oven momentarily. <pause>

Ok, the thins are officially OUT of the oven and the rye is IN. Tomorrow we have #2 & #3 children with their significant others for breakfast. #1 has two little ones, so they'll be over around lunch time to clean out the fridge. :yum: I'll be making fresh baguettes in the morning to go with the chicken Parmesan & putz-ghetti for dinner. Will have 14-18 for dinner, depending on who shows up. As usual, it will be the usual Christmas circus with wrapping paper all over, crying babies and someone getting pissed at someone else over something stupid. Gotta love families! :yum:

There were just 12 of us.

All just family...kids and grand kid. and friend.

We usually add Smelts, deep fried to the fish list, but Tina said it would stink up the house. LOL

My family also made deep fried Smelts. I hated the smell.

Today was fend for thyself. I had cheese with torn Italian bread.
I had a pita job of trying to snake the comode. Tina flushed a plastic top and it stopped use of the darn thing. I had to pull it off so I figured while I was doing that, I replaced it with a new one. Needed an ADA compliant one for the Uncle staying with us.

I'm thinking of a ham and cheese on one of those Italian hoagie rolls, but it is a little too late. Maybe I will have a couple Biscotti with a cup of tea.
