Whats cooking Friday September 18, 2009?

lilbopeep

🌹 Still trying to get it right.
breakfast for dinner tonight. poached or fried eggs, fried potatoes and onions and biscuits.

We'll be going out again for our date night. So the question is more "Where is dinner" than "What to make for dinner". And there will be cocktails involved at some point (or at least beers). For one of us at least. Have to make sure we get home safe. ;)

Think it's Wifey's choice tonight though, so the where will mostly depend on what she wants for dinner.

gonna make some chicken lo mein..... just need to figure out what to use instead of bean spouts because i really dont want to go get any.

Probably something take out, or from the kitchen at work.
No cooking today, well.. unless you count the toast I had for brekkie lol

Tomato basil soup and grilled cheese sammies. I am down at the coast and I'm cooking for my neighbor and her dad. I'll try to post pics.

working a double shift today, and i'm going home for the bath/books/bedtime routine during my allotted dinner hour-ish, so my dinner will be souvlaki at midnight.

Don't know if we'll be home for dinner or want any. We're supposed to go to the WestSide Market today and eat lunch downtown.......still waiting. If we do we probably won't want dinner.

Bone in pork steaks, seared on the grille and then slow braised in beer/bbq sauce.

And as usual for this time of year, I have a lot of zucchini, so what I don't use for zucchini bread this afternoon will wind up as one of our sides!

Okay, here's the deal for tonight...
Marianne and Jim have a car for the day and will probably go tooling about today and into the evening. Lou and I are looking at this as a window of opportunity :in_love::kiss::in_love:.....so food of any kind is completely on the back burner. The plan is to run home, shower, put the linen back on the bed, pick him up and give the linen that lived in look:wink:...all before my parents get back from where ever they kill the afternoon.

I think Lou is bringing sandwiches from Tony Lukes (best roast port italian and cheese steak in Philly) for later in the evening. All I want now is some of the Dimple Pinch (scotch, not flesh...), actually, I want lots of Dimple Pinch.

Our evening won't be as rushed as Vera's as we will have dinner tonight before bed. :yum:

At any rate I am doing a rack of baby back ribs in the oven tonight as well as fresh sweet corn on the cob and home made cole slaw. We got 40 ears of fresh sweet corn Sunday and blanched it then froze it for the rest of the winter months. We took two out for tonight and I want to try the Creamy Coleslaw recipe that Herbert Keller did on the DVD that came with my new Cuisinart food processor. I love playing with that thing really.

Well the best laid plans are usually .....................

I don't have to cook, DH will be out and my son will be working.

No idea. Very hectic day and I'm still fired up everytime I talk to people about PA's gov't busting my chops every chance they get. Lottso beer. That's all I know at this point.

hey you two... had a bad day??? nothing like getting in the kitchen and playing with knives and beating the crap out of some meat!!!!

the crabbier i get the more i want to cook..... maybe theres something wrong with me :)

i think it's been one of those days for a lot of us. i just had a bad feeling this morning, and it hasn't left me. first, the 10,000 butt heads that can't seem to choose a speed or a lane on the commute in this morning.:yuk:

then, the acting supervisor baby huey m-effer sends a dirty picture to a printer in another shop, of which i got accused. i had to waste time analyzing the print cue to prove it didn't come from my system.

then, meeting after meeting about stuff we already know, or stuff we can't touch until they're off the air.

only 7 more hours to go...

at least i get to go home for a bit, hug the wife and tickle the boy until he begs for mercy or throws up. whichever comes first. :dizzy:

Then you should join Peeps and me, we'll open another bottle!

Oh well, the best laid plans.... No cooking for me tonight. I woke up this morning to a burst pipe under the house so the water is turned off until DH gets down here to fix it. (It looks too scary to try and fix myself - spiders!!!)

I guess it's seafood at a local place.

You guys have your wine. I'll be drinking beer with Suzi.

Bucky, it would be easier to prove you didn't send the dirty pic if it wasn't a pic of you...
