Whats cookin' ? Mon 10/3

Not chili. even tho I had plenty left over.

 to many carbs in those beans. To much sugar in the tomatoe's..

Back on track for me.

No carbs for me today so maybe a rib eye.

I have been drinking copious amounts of hot tea all morning, and nibbling on hot buttered toast and a peeled orange.
If I get very hungry today, perhaps running out for a curry later.

Pork chops are thawing... but have no idea what I'm going to do with them. Salad and grilled Zuchinii to go with

I hate that I can't go into the kitchen & stand up too long. GRRR! I'm going to try a quick shrimp scampi (nuked - ACK) over angel hair. If I can't get through it, pizza delivery :(

Hope your foot gets better soon Cali.
Just rest and take it easy.
It's all you can do right now.

Get some soup sass. I wish you lived closer. Feel better soon. Try to find rosehip tea it is very good for colds loaded with vitamin C. Add a bit of honey and you can drink it hot or cold.

Rose hip tea is refreshing, pleasantly tart and contains vitamins A, B, C, E and K, pectin and organic acids. Besides battling colds, the nutrient-rich tea boosts your health in other ways as well. This popular medicinal tea strengthens the body's resistance to infection, reinforces digestive function, combats all kinds of illnesses with fever, flushes out the kidneys and urinary tract and relieves mild rheumatic pain.
When you think of vitamin C, you are most likely to think of grapefruit and oranges. But rose hips, the fruit of the wild rose, have even more vitamin C than do citrus fruits. Rose hips were long known as a food, but only since the mid-twentieth century has their medicinal value as a premier source of the essential vitamin been recognized. The vitamin C content gives rose hip tea its primary benefit, the ability to help prevent and treat colds and flu.
Once brewed, Rose Hip Tea retains its flavor and effectiveness for the rest of the day. You can drink this herbal tea hot or cold.

Guess I'm not the only one with the "virus du jour." I still managed to get dinner together for DW. Baked ham with broccoli, rice & cheese casserole and cranberry relish.

Tina cooked sauce with meat (chopped meat) because son and DIL were stopping after work.
I didn't eat it cause I don't like meat sauce like that.

There were 4 pieces of sausage in there for flavor so I had some angelhair plain with the sausage..

DD came over to get the sauce for her supper, and thank God...it's all gone.

DW made a cake from a box mix; but added cinnamon and applesauce.
It was actually funny.
DW checked to see if it was done, and checked with a knife out clean, and it did.
It sat here on the island counter, and as we watched it in the bundt pan...hahaha it farted, and fell 1 inch. It was so funny. It just went Poofff...and ZZzzzzzing down down down... It's now as big as 1/3 the size it came out of the oven. Weird!! LOL

DW thinks the cake mix may have been old???

Everything looks and sounds wonderful.

Feel better everyone!!
peep... you should have seen me Saturday night at the Long Horn Steak place.

At 7:00 the place was jamed. Here I was with DW and the kids , @$$ to @$$ and breath to breath with a bunch of coughing, cold sucking sniffers. OMG...I had my alcohol wipes wiping my nostrils and mouth. I couldn't stand it.

When we sat to eat...I had my own plastic throwaway fork. Had a beer / no glass; and I wiped the mouth of the bottle with another alcohol wipe.
Even wiped the steak knife blade and handle.

So far So Good.

The place was a Germ Breeding Ground. IMO

Thanks Peeps, I'll look into finding that.
I've already got Solgar Vitamin C with rose hips and have been taking a double dose of that.
For dinner I had Mrs. Grass soup- the kind with the little golden egg that you dissolve in it?
Two bowls at different times throughout the day, followed by several short naps.
Feeling better right now.

Sass... Hope you get back on track and feel better soon.

There is a trick my mom used to give us as kids.

Two aspirins... 1/4 tsp Vicks Vaporub (swallow) and a cup of hot tea.
Crawl under the blankets and sweat it out.
