You found a remarkable amount of money in an unmarked container. There is no way for you by yourself to find the owner. Getting the container home unseen is not a problem.

Once again, remarkable is up to each of you. The question is what would you do?

You would...

With my luck I would decide to keep it and find out the hard way that it was counterfeit! :bonk::bonk::bonk:

I would like to say I would choose one of the latter answers.....but if I were being truly honest with myself and you guys...chances are I'd prob keep it :sorry::whistling::blush::blush:

My first inclination would be to keep it.

But I would be worried all the time that it belonged to bad people who would come looking for it ... and me.

So, I would turn it in and sleep well at night.

It depends on the amount.

But knowing me, I'd keep it all, whether it's $20 or a briefcase containing a million $.

Give it to the policemen.

I found a 10$ bill in a parking lot once...went into the store and spent it. I still feel guilty and I found it before my 25 year old son was born.

Maybe I've seen to many movies, plus I know my conscience would both me so that if I kept it I could not enjoy it. I would have to give it to the cops. "Remarkable" amounts of money are never lost for long. Someone would figure it out and track you down ....at least I'd be thinking that and always looking over my shoulder. It simply would not be worth it. Give it to the cops and if it's meant you be you'll get it in 30 days. Unlikely but it could happen.
Good question Lefty. Thanks for doing this polls. Very interesting stuff. :thumb: :D

Ahh don't feel guilty about that. I probably would have done the same thing. At a time when we were really poor, not making enough to even pay bills pay check to pay check my wife spotted a 20 blowing along the curb. She picked it up and looked around. No one to be seen. No way to find out who's it was. We spent it.

I would turn it in to the police, but I would probably be marking each of those 30 days off on the calendar til I found out if it had been claimed. LOL

If I got to keep it, I would most assuredly "Pay it Forward" with about half of it. I was raised on the old hippie adage "Share the Wealth", and DH and I have always practiced it. We're convinced it's like a cosmic bank account and one of the surest bets around.
