What are you eating Sunday, 6/21/2026 to Saturday, 6/27/2026?

Today Nancy is making Hormel baby back ribs baked in the oven with her mom’s recipe for bbq sauce which is loaded with onions and green pepper. I can add hot sauce at the table. We’ll have Costco scalloped potatoes and carrot salad with strawberry shortcake cake for dessert. My son from Seattle will be down and not sure if Peter will make it. He was here last night.

Leftover Eggplant and Hamburger pie and Aunt Stella's cucumbers with browned butter.

Kids and grand kids were here for the Father's day celebration dinner. We had taco's and chips to scoop dips. Then, we had Zeppole ( Fried Dough ) and then dusted with sugar and cinnamon, or honey .... I like them with a slice of anchovy wrapped into the center, but no one wanted the smell from the cooking them like that..

I may have asked you this before, Jusa - what kind of smoker do you have?

Lee
It's a pretty simple setup, just an electric Cuisinart smoker. It works.

So I wet brined the chicken then seasoned it with a Cajun and garlic powder rub before I had my DH put it in the smoker at 250, and I told him how long to smoke it and to crank it up at the end to get the skin crispy. I sent some with my youngest daughter for her husband's lunch today, along with some of the rice and broccoli dish I made. Today he sent my DH a wow thank you message telling him how great his food turned out, LOL. I got no honorable mention. So my question is, if I basically did all the work other than having DH put it in the smoker and having him take it out, why does he get all the credit? LOLOLOLOL

I had some leftover cheesesteak mixture with peppers, onions and mushrooms, so I heated up 3 small scoops in the microwave and pan fried 3 soft corn tortillas in a skillet on both sides. I divided the mixture up between the 3 and folded them over, flipping them over while cooking. The juices oozed out and soaked into the tortillas so I cooked them until they were crunchy. Really good.

No clue yet for supper. Tomato salad for starters though. Tin's in a grumpy mood for some reason.
IDN why??? Had pancakes for starter of the day. Maybe a bowl of soup of some sort.
It is a cool day with no sun. Rained last night; so that sets up a sort of appetite.... We shall see,

It's cool here too, just reached 70 with a high of only 74 today. I am not sure about supper either, I think I will pick up a rotisserie chicken and play it by ear. My DH doesn't love chicken, but we have other food like frozen burger patties, etc. He hates cooking though and makes a big mess when he does it, LOL. Oh well. Tin's not the only one in a grumpy mood today, IDK why either. I used to wake up grumpy, now I let him sleep, LOL.
