What are you eating Sunday, 4/19/2026 to Saturday, 4/25/2026?

The salmon was a hit. The juice, a mix of butter, onions, miso, Kewpie mayo, and saki was quite tasty. I will make this again.

Soooo, with all the hype surrounding this new Big Arch burger at McDonald's, I decided to try one.
Taste wise, I'm going to give it a 7 out of 10.
It's okay, just nothing as I'd imagined.
I rarely go to McDonald's except occasionally for breakfast, but haven't even done that in quite a while.
In my opinion, a Big Mac is 10x better.
The burger itself was $9, the meal around $14. Could not finish lol

This is similar, but I didn't use parsnips ot turnips and I didn't measure anything. I had 2 lamb shanks, not 4.. I'll look for the risotto recipe in a minute.

Oh also I put my Dutch oven in the oven for the main cooking. 325F for about 2.5 hours. I added the herbs closer to the end, not during the cook, and no rosemary because I don't like it much. I used fresh parsley and thyme.

Here's the risotto recipe I used. I scaled it in half. The author said to use unsalted butter and low sodium chicken stock. I didn't. I salted by taste. I didn't use red pepper flakes either.

My first job in high school at 16 was at BK. I loved their original chicken sandwiches. I haven't had one in over 45 years.

I've got some NY strip pieces from some t-bones I bought Friday that are in marinade in an airtight pyrex bowl in the back of my fridge where it's very cold (water bottles partially freeze there). I'll sautee some peppers, onions, and mushrooms and sear the steak pieces, fold in some cheese, and we'll have steak sliders with potato chips and onion dip.
