My wedge salad was so ‘wedgey’ that all the stuff rolled down to the plate. I forgot to put the dressing on first to help it stick.

We went to Metropolitan Market for a few things and I got an Irish corn beef and cheddar sandwich for tonight. Nancy got what she needed for a tagine for tomorrow night.

This was an Irish ham with cheddar and fried onions on rye from Met Market that Nancy fried on the Griswold griddle. The grow lights affected the photo. Very good...

Many years ago I bought a small, cheap, basic, ceramic tagine. I have used it a few times, but not in several years. It's just large enough for 4 people. It's pretty authentic, but small. It's perfect for us.

I love chicken-fried steak! It's not on menus around here and I've only made it a couple of times, but it's great!

We went to one once. It was too loud and didn’t enjoy it. My steak came raw, my fault, then Nancy put it with her luggage, and it rotted after a week. Anyway it’s hard to find a decent chicken fried steak around here.

I cheated. One of the foods I miss from Detroit is an authentic Detroit Coney. These are not to be confused with NY Coney Island, nor Cincinatti, not anywhere else. Detroit Coney sauce is unique.
There are NO beans, NO tomato products, NO chili powder. It's actually a meat sauce, and beef heart gives it its unique flavor.
We have a new restaurant here that serves Detroit coneys. The owner is from Detroit, and has the chili shipped in from one of the big suppliers up there. It's the real deal! I bought a quart, and froze it in smaller containers.
Steamed white bun (never toasted), snapper hot dogs (never skinless), diced white onion, and yellow mustard.

I bought some small frozen shrimp today and some mini cucumbers and a red onion.
I'll make a big salad from those ingredients tomorrow for both lunch and work dinner.
It's just basically tossed in Duke's mayo, then add some dill.
