My 3 lemon cake layers are cooling. I'll make lemon cream cheese buttercream frosting. This is a first run for both the cake and frosting. (I have never made buttercream frosting before) As a matter of fact I haven't made a layer cake in many years. My cake pans ran away awhile ago.
I bought 3 cake pans recently.
Will be putting homemade lemon curd between the layers (and maybe sliced strawberries in the middle layer). I may also try my hand at decorating with my piping bag.
I have my fingers crossed. Wish me luck. If it turns out pretty I'll post a picture.
