Oh wait - I think the needle is a needlepunch tool for making rugs. The name gave it away:Terry (FM) I believe you are correct on both counts.
The link you provided for oyster shuckers showed a knife on the far left that's exactly like the one I have. The description of "A Frenchman" said that the blade would be stamped with "Inox", which mine is. And a couple of other French words.
The larding needle is stamped with "Made in USA" and "Susan Bales". Can't find anything on it, and I'm not sure how to use it. The eye is very small.
Thanks for playing, everyone!

It was the name stamped on the tool - Susan Bates is the most common brand of knitting needles, crochet hooks, and rug hooks. But it looks amazingly like a larding needle, too!
You just gave me chills, Buzz.
Do it again....
Me, too. They are still brilliant films. Remember the movie Marnie? All those old Hitchcock movies are still thrilling. The Birds, Psycho, Vertigo, Rear Window.... I love them all.

I didn't take showers for many, many years after I first saw that movie - only baths so I could see the bathroom door! I'll bet I'm not the only one, either.Barely. It was quite complicated. I like simple things that stick in my memory, like the shrill herk herk HERK sound during the Psycho shower knifing. To the day I die that sound will be as familiar to me as a train whistle or church bells...

Shut up, Buzz!!!! Now I'm not going to be able to take a bath either!!!!
Perhaps you need professional help.
